Surprise! Time to put on your Tutu!

Would you look at that.. my blog relationship is going strong! ;)

Well, there were many things that were challenging about the first trimester of my pregnancy, but one of them was keeping these fun, family baby reveals to myself! So today, I would like to share with you how we shared the news with Josh's mom, Lynda.

If you know my beautiful MIL (mother in law), you also know that she LOVES to throw surprises for other people. So it was super fun to turn the tables and give HER a pretty stellar surprise :)

Again, I have it all documented on film, of course! And although a lot of the story is explained in the video, I'll throw in a few side notes that didn't quite make it in...

So originally, Lynda needed to be picked up at the airport one Sunday evening and asked her friend Dave if he would be so kind. Josh thought it would be the perfect opportunity to jump in with the surprise news. So we called Dave and hijacked the pickup. Josh had told Dave his plan to dress up like a Limo driver, and hold a sign that says 'Tutu' in the airport... (Tutu is the Hawaiian name for Grandma, and what her grandkids call her that live in Kona, HI) Dave then casually suggested that he could pick up a limo to drive us all in since he moonlights as a limo driver on the weekends occasionally. Uhm.. Perfect?! We also bought a Tutu and attached it to a sign that read.. 'Time to put this on...' and with perfect timing, Josh would turn around his 'Tutu' sign to reveal the big news.

I'll let the video tell the rest of the story! Enjoy and click the video link below!

A New Journey in the Making!

Okay, first things first, I have to get something off my chest and finally admit.. I'm pretty terrible at writing blogs consistently. Apologies, since most of you were probably waiting anxiously everyday for my next post ;) Okay, perhaps not. But in bigger news...

WE ARE ADDING TO THE FAMILY!

Every time I actually say that out loud, I get a little emotional (who are we kidding, a lot emotional). Partly due to the excessive amount of hormones running through me as of the last 4 1/2 months, but mostly because the journey to finally be able to say that phrase wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. At times, I wasn't even sure I would ever be able to.. but more on this later! I promise!

As for now.. I wanted to share some of the fun "behind the scenes" footage that has taken place when all of you had no clue I was growing a baby, and maybe just thought I was growing a larger appetite! ;)

Here is the set-up for the first video.

Josh and I had first told all of our siblings before we told anyone else, mainly so they could help with fun ideas to surprise our parents! First up on the list was my parents (or Nana & Pops as the grandkids call them). My younger sister, Caylin & her fiance, Logan were both living at my parents at the time and decided to set-up a dinner for all the family to come over and finalize some of the details for the wedding. Clever, right? My older sister Erin and her husband Steven own a drone... So Josh's creative idea was to deliver the news by attaching a card to the drone and have Steven navigate it from the front yard, to the backyard, where we were all goofing off playing games. Steven had to work, "so couldn't make it".. super convenient for the plan at hand. (Don't worry we let him eat afterwards.. but only if it went flawless..hehe)

Enjoy!

Lets Get On This Journey!

I've hesitated writing a blog for awhile now. Mainly for reasons such as, who would even want to read it, would it be interesting enough, or what if I run out of things to say? Now I have come to the conclusion that the main reason I have a desire to write is really for myself (plus.. my husband has reminded me that I will NEVER run out of things to say haha). Also, to note stories that have happened along this amazing journey God has paved for me. To remind myself of the times of boldness, answered prayer, and blessings that can be so easy to forget in everyday life.  I'm hopeful that reading back these entries it will encourage, promote boldness, and make me laugh. If you happen to know a couple things about me, one of the key components of what makes me me is being silly and making people laugh, sometimes (or I may venture to say, most times) it's not even on purpose. I find a lot of things that happen to me would amuse others, and make them thankful it was a story that wasn't their own. ;)

I feel like I must be upfront about the MANY different ventures I am involved in within my life and that you may expect to read about in the future.

**A huge part of my life is being a follower of Jesus Christ. I wouldn't be who I am without the love and peace I feel everyday as one of His children.

**I have been married to my best friend, Joshua, for over 5 years and have loved being a mom to our pup Peanut! :)

**I am, and have been, a NASM Certified Personal Trainer for the last 5 years, as well as a Certified Group Exercise Instructor for the last 2 years. I absolutely LOVE fitness, and if it wasn't for this urging desire to be fit, I may still be struggling with an eating disorder and body dysmorphia, which took ahold of my life for most of my high school and early college years. I am sure I will be writing about this at some point!

**I started my own Formal and Vintage Dress Rental Business called GirlFriends Closet located in Campbell, CA--> Mainly targeting high school and the crazy expense of having a dress for every event and dance. When I was in high school, I couldn't afford a new dress for each dance, and wished there was a place I could rent these dresses for a great price. So the dream was officially born, Nov 1 2014! Feel free to browse my website-> www.girlfriendscloset.net

**I am heavily involved in a ministry called Models for Christ, where I've gotten the opportunity to encourage and pray for models, designers, fashion bloggers, and sometimes celebrities at NY & LA Fashion Weeks for the last 3 years. There will be a lot of posts about the amazing stories experienced during these weeks.

**Lastly, I am a signed Model/Actress with MTM agency in San Jose. I absolutely LOVE my agency and every opportunity to audition, model, act, dance, work the runway, perform in front of an audience, and meet new faces in the industry!

Well, now that you have had fair warning of what you are in for..
